Data and privacy

Applies to the static website and tools described on this page.

Curiosortsortcmp is the publication name used at curiosortsortcmp.lat. Privacy enquiries about this website can be sent to [email protected]. This notice distinguishes processing performed by the site's code from the ordinary processing needed to deliver a website or exchange email.

Reading the website

The supplied site code does not contain analytics, advertising trackers, tracking pixels, third-party fonts or embedded third-party media. Photographs, styles and scripts are requested from the site's own hosting location. It does not create a reader account or ask for payment information.

Serving a page necessarily exposes connection information to the hosting infrastructure, such as an IP address, request time, requested path and browser-provided headers. Hosting or network providers may keep operational and security logs. The site code does not determine their retention settings, and this notice does not promise that server logs are absent. Such processing may be necessary to deliver and secure the service and, where applicable, based on legitimate operational interests.

The contact preparation tool

Information entered in the contact tool is processed locally in the browser to construct plain text. The form has no message-submission service. Its JavaScript does not upload field contents or save them to localStorage. The prepared text remains in the page while it is open; a browser may independently restore form values or retain session information under its own settings.

Clicking Copy asks the browser to place the prepared text on your device's clipboard. Other applications or clipboard-history features may retain that text. Clicking Download creates a plain-text file on your device. You control where it is stored and whether it is later shared. Closing the page does not delete a downloaded file or clear clipboard history.

If you send an email

If you choose to send a message through your email provider, the publication receives what you send, including your email address, message contents and associated email metadata. We use correspondence to consider suggestions, investigate corrections, respond to enquiries and handle privacy requests. Do not include sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for that purpose.

Relevant legal grounds may include legitimate interests in handling editorial correspondence, steps taken at your request and compliance with legal obligations, depending on the circumstances and applicable law. Correspondence should be retained only while needed for its purpose, related recordkeeping or legal requirements. This page does not invent a fixed retention period for an email service whose configuration is not specified here.

Browser preference storage

The Cookies page offers controls that save a single preference in localStorage under the key curiosortsortcmp-cookie-choice. The value records “accept” or “essential.” It contains no name or email address, is not transmitted by this script and does not activate analytics or advertising. You can remove it through the page's Forget Preference control or your browser's site-data settings. See the Cookies page for details.

Sharing and external links

The site code does not sell personal data or transmit contact-tool entries to marketing services. Hosting and email providers may process information needed to deliver their services. Information may also need to be disclosed where legally required. No provider location or international-transfer safeguard is asserted without verified provider details.

Following an external reference takes you to another organisation's website, which operates under its own privacy practices. Your browser may send ordinary connection and referrer information when you follow a link. A reference link does not mean that organisation endorses this publication.

Your choices and rights

You can avoid the contact tool, clear local site data, delete downloaded files and contact us using an email address you are comfortable sharing. Depending on your location and the processing involved, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict personal information, object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent where relevant or complain to a supervisory authority. Rights can be subject to legal exceptions.

Send requests to [email protected] with enough detail to identify the correspondence involved. Do not send identity documents unless a proportionate verification step is actually requested. The local preference key is not an account identifier and cannot be used by the publication to identify your browsing history.

Changes and scope

If the website adds new tracking, submission services or commercial features, this information should be updated before those features are introduced. This notice describes the supplied static site; it does not claim control over browser extensions, your device, linked websites or services added independently by a hosting operator.
